Zero Mill Increase!

Building on Success – Investing in Our Future

In 2021, the Brandon School District community came together to support a bond that made a lasting difference for our schools. Many of the improvements are easy to see—new parking lots, playgrounds, a refreshed football field, and a new track. But the bond also delivered critical upgrades you may not notice every day, such as:

  • Safety enhancements to interior and exterior doors
  • Classroom technology upgrades, including new smart screens
  • Internet and network improvements to keep students connected

Now, we have the opportunity to continue this progress—with a zero percent (0%) tax rate increase—on the November 4, 2025 ballot.

A comprehensive assessment of all school facilities shows that $39.5 million is needed to complete essential infrastructure updates across every building and facility over the next 18 years.

This long-term investment will benefit everyone in our community: students, teachers, parents, grandparents, residents, landowners, and business owners alike.

Let’s keep moving forward—vote YES on November 4, 2025!

There are several ways you can help us encourage others to support the 2025 Zero Mill Increase Bond proposal:

Show Your School Spirit!

We’re excited to announce new black and grey mesh trucker hats, arriving just in time for the Homecoming Parade on October 9!

We’d love to see 100 friends and family members wearing them proudly at the game.

  • $10 donation = 1 hat (proceeds help fund awareness activities)
  • Orders due by September 26
  • Perfect for the whole family—grab one for everyone!

Don’t miss out—it’s what the cool kids (and parents!) will be wearing!

Want to Help Without Buying a Hat?

If hats aren’t your thing but you’d still like to support, you can make a donation here.

With enough community support, we plan to place ¼-page ads in The Citizen to spread the word. (Ad dates TBD.)

Every contribution—big or small—helps us reach more people and build momentum!

Pass out Smarties on Halloween!

This Halloween, help us share a sweet message: “Smarties Support Schools!”

We’re planning to hand out Smarties candies with special support cards across Brandon Township—at homes in the village, subdivisions, and surrounding communities—on October 31.

You can join in by signing up to pass them out:

  • Choose a bundle of 50 or 100 (based on the number of trick-or-treaters you usually see)
  • We’ll provide the candy and cards—ready to go!

It’s a fun, simple way to show your support and spread the word.

Yard Signs Available!

We have 50 yard signs available, generously donated by the Yes4BrandonKids group from the 2021 campaign.

If you’d like to show your support, simply provide your address, and we’ll place a sign on your property between October 5 – November 5 (in accordance with Brandon Township ordinance).

It’s an easy way to spread the word and show your pride in our schools!
